Going back in time, to the year 1850, we learn that our premises consisted of a stable and a group of rooms where, for example, Gral. Bartolomé Mitre, the first Constitutional Argentinian President and founder of La Nación newspaper, stayed. Our premises, which have always been used as a hotel, still keep distinctive characteristics of those times regarding structure and varied elements that remind us of colonial times as it happens in every corner of Colonia del Sacramento.

At present Don Antonio Posada has 37 rooms. Our aim is to harmoniously blend the peaceful and cozy atmosphere of old times with the comfort and quality guests are looking for when staying with us today. Don Antonio Posada offers the most modern services within a colonial style, all what creates a unique atmosphere.

Our facilities include a vast garden ideal to enjoy peace and quiet and to spend a most delightful and pleasurable stay. We also have an outdoor swimming-pool in our garden where you can enjoy a snack or some fresh fruit juice 24 hours a day. Don Antonio Posada offers the equpment you may require to make the most of our facilities. Our sitting-room features cable-TV, DVD, and air- conditioning and is one of the best places to share time with your family. Other facilities include: a playroom featuring a computer with free internet access, a library to be visited at any time of the day and a wide variety of board games to be asked for at the Reception desk.

After mentioning the different areas and optional activities of our Posada we must refer to the Cafeteria. In this comfortable coffee room, every guest of Don Antonio Posada will enjoy a well-served American buffet breakfast including: different kinds of bread, homemade food, fresh fruit, dairy products, homemade jams and more to start the day in an excellent way sorrounded by music to create an ideal atmosphere.
